Downtown Frederick Partnership and The City of Frederick successfully submitted a joint grant application to the State of Maryland seeking Community Legacy funding to improve the lighting on Patrick Street. The $31,100 grant will be matched by $31,100 in City funds and additional in-kind support. The new lighting will be installed in the fall of 2011 and should greatly improve the pedestrian friendliness of this key downtown corridor. Prior to the improvement, street lights were obstructed by the tree canopy. The new lights will be shorter in height, increasing street lighting levels.
