2017 Frederick Speaker Series- Elizabeth Smart

Weinberg Center for the Arts
20 W Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21701

Since its inception in 2013, the Frederick Speaker Series has featured notable personalities such as Dr. Michio Kaku, Cal Ripken Jr., General Colin Powell, Tom Brokaw, Bryan Stevenson, and George Takei.

The 2002 abduction of Elizabeth Smart was one of the most followed child abduction cases of our time. In the years after her rescue, Smart transformed from victim to advocate, launching the Elizabeth Smart Foundation to help stop the brutal victimization of women and children around the world. Now, she shares her incredible story, offering a lasting message about hope and perseverance in the face of adversity.

This year’s series, event, and media sponsors include Ausherman Family Foundation, C. Burr Artz Trust, Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick County Bank, Leidos, PNC Bank, Kiplinger Foundation, Graphcom, Frederick Magazine, and The Frederick News-Post. Presenting sponsors include the Weinberg Center for the Arts and Frederick County Public Libraries.
